My research investigates corporate political activism - by which firms take a public stance on a contentious sociopolitical issue, manifesting in attempts to influence the discourse or effect changes in public policy in relation to the issue.
Situated broadly within studies of management and society, my research aims to conceptualise the political character of corporate activism, and to understand its relationship to broader democratic processes and ideals.
By situating corporate activism within the wider democratic landscape, I explore how multinational corporations shape and are shaped by a political environment characterised by polarisation, rising inequality, and democratic backsliding.
